The mainstream media keeps sanewashing Trump's regime
Washington Post thinks there's a style angle to massive cruelty
The thing that’s outraging so many of us who are around the media business is the cavalier way that mainstream publications owned by billionaires have adjusted to the nightmare that is the Trump regime.
Every time Joe Biden stuttered over a person’s name, it became a three-day news cycle of questions about his mental abilities. Donald Trump rants about windmills causing cancer, toilet and shower water pressure, and then tanks the entire global economy with mindlessly applied tariffs (tariffs are a tax on Americans, they are NOT paid by the countries on which they are applied) — and the media act as if he’s playing three-dimensional chess instead of just eating the pieces and kicking over the chessboard.
The latest egregious example of this sane-washing of insanity is a style article in the Washington Post, “In Trump’s Washington, MAGA fashionistas lay claim to American hotness,” which describes “a party thrown by a conservative lifestyle publication, an “objectively beautiful lifestyle” and an “objectively superior worldview” go hand in hand.”
Apparently the WaPo feels that it’s OK to support a regime built in kidnapping people off the streets, making death threats to judges, journalists, and other opponents, and mass firings of government science experts who once kept our air, food, and water clean and our food safe.
In the Post’s view, after a busy day gutting the entire world financial market, we girls can go out for cosmos wearing our Nazi headgear.
Remind yourselves, this is not normal, despite the Post putting it in the Style section.
Excellent post. I hadn't seen one on how legacy media is sanewashing!
