We’re excited to launch a Substack newsletter that’s NOT devoted to politics. There’s enough of that out there. What I hope to do here is share some tips and tricks I’ve learned over 20 years of podcasting (you read that right: I’ve been producing podcasts and videos for twenty years now!).
I’ve got a lot of miles under my belt in podcasting and video, and I’m ready to share some of the things I’ve learned that help me make my productions look and sound their best.
I was never one of those podcasters who believed “rough and raw” was what audiences wanted. I think a podcast or video should look and sound good. You don’t want to watch something out of focus or listen to muffled audio, so it’s always been my goal to sound and look as good as the cable or broadcast networks. The content may not be NPR, but it can at least sound good!
So as we go forward, I’ll be sharing some of those techniques that can take your podcasts and videos to the “next level” in your editing and post-production.
We’ll provide a lot of tips for free subscribers. For those of you kind enough to support this newsletter with a paid subscription, you’ll get access to detailed audio and video explanations of the techniques we discuss, along with occasional examples of our work and how we did it, and suggestions for tools and software that can help. If there’s enough interest, we’ll probably have some livestream Q&A sessions where you can ask me about this stuff.
I hope you’ll find this valuable enough to become a paid subscriber. I’m looking forward to taking this journey with you. If you have comments or questions, feel free to reach out on the Substack feed or by email to steve@lmediacos.com.
We’ll see you out there on the ‘net. Take good care!
